Crown Reduction, Thinning & End Weight Reduction

End weight reduction is a style of pruning that alleviates weight off of heavy branches.  Decreasing the weight on the end of a branch will minimize the chances of breakage. This can be targeted to a single branch, a section of tree, or the entire tree. Crown reduction is the process of reducing the height of the tree while maintaining its natural shape. Thinning is a process of removing selected branches to reduce the density of the tree canopy, allowing more light and air to reach the interior of the tree.
